At about 20 minutes from the centre of town, Bondi Beach is the most famous beach in Sydney. Paradise for party animals, surfers and womanisers.

My suggestion:

There are festivals and activities all year. The idea time to go is during the Surf Life Saving carnival with rescue demonstrations.

Bondi Beach is the fashionable beach in Sydney, the place you need to see and be seen at. The party seems to be permanent all year round as the beach is livened up with various carnivals and events. The surfers confront the Pacific waves by stringing together the most complex of moves. Out of the water are those who sunbather and those who play beach volleyball or frisbee. The womanisers get their pecs out and the shy guys look discretely at the girls. Nothing escapes the vigilance of the lifeguards. When I came here, I hadn't packed my surfboard or my bulging muscles. The vigilance of my personal coastguard, in the form of my wife, prevented me from any chance of pulling. In short, it's much more of a paradise for single people.

Bondi Beach is an uninterrupted spectacle, an obligatory part of your trip to Australia.

The most famous beach in Sydney!

My suggestion:
Do your morning jog or yoga on the beach during sunrise... unforgettable!

Bondi Beach is THE beach in Sydney that you must go to. It's one of the most famous beaches in Australia and even in the world so you mustn't forget to include it in your Australian itinerary!!

Here, the cool lifestyle of Australians prevails... Board shorts, a surf/skate board and others are required! Don't hesitate to take a surf lesson or to stroll along the coast - there are several very pleasant paths with views over the ocean.

If you are spending time in Bondi, get up early to admire the sunrise over the ocean, or to do your morning yoga/jog along the coast... You won't be alone but it will allow you to make the most of the place's serenity before the swimmers and tourists arrive.

Located 7 km away from the city centre, Bondi Beach is a popular and glamorous spot in a wealthy neighbourhood of Sydney. Bondi is the place to be seen amongst the bronzed surfers and pretty girls.

My suggestion:

You can laze around on the beach, go swimming or surfing, shop till you drop or go for a walk along the coast to Coogee (about 2 hrs.).

If you find the waves too scary, you can swim in the Bondi Iceberg pool which is filled with water from the ocean.

Everybody says that Bondi Beach is very chic, where people go to see and be seen - a sort Australian Saint-Tropez.

Being the most famous and unmissable beach in Sydney, curiosity drove me to go and take a look. I arrived early in the morning and everything was quiet - just a few surfers out on the water, nobody on the beach and generally quite relaxing. It was good to get out of the vibrant centre of Sydney.

The beach looked really nice. It's a bay of fine sand surrounded by lawns, houses and small buildings. There are shops and cafés along the seafront. But I think Bondi is overrated. There are other beaches that are just as attractive in Sydney, that are a little quieter and less famous, such as the more family-oriented Coogee, Marboura and Manly.

The area around the beach has fabulous houses and the centre is packed with surfing shops and restaurants. If you're staying in Bondi Beach, you'll be at the heart of surfing culture and the Australian dream, even though Bondi is far from being the best surf spot in Australia.
