A seaside resort to enjoy comfort and rest.

My suggestion:
Walk along the main road to find reasonably priced accommodation, the waterfront doesn't just have luxurious hotels.
Summary:

During my stay in Thailand, I found myself in Khao Lak somewhat by chance, not really knowing what to expect. The luxurious, comfortable and shopping atmosphere that I discovered didn't really appeal to me but as it wasn't the tourist season and it was raining heavily, I ended up enjoying these few days.

I had some very pleasant experiences, the mornings where I walked along the Khao Lak beach, almost deserted because of a threatening sky. That gave me the opportunity to "talk", or rather exchange a few words, with the hotel staff who were trying to retrieve the sun lounger cushions that the wind had blown up into the trees.

The town itself didn't really charm me, it has a main road where all kinds of souvenir shops are grouped together. Given the torrential rain that is typical of the afternoons and evenings, I opted for gastronomical experiences and tried quite a few different traditional Thai dishes, a real treat.
