Koh Mai Phai (Thailand)

The island of Koh Mai Phai is better known as Bamboo Island. It is usually included in the day excursions that leave from Koh Phi Phi.

I didn't really see any bamboo there, but the island is covered with a type of pine tree which makes a change from the "traditional" coconut trees and makes it a bit different. Despite being tiny it is idyllic and I really enjoyed my lunch there (included in the price of the day trip).

Every time I've been there it was with my wife and it is definitely the ideal spot for a romantic getaway, white sandy beach and clear water - what more could you want! It was also an ideal spot to do a bit of snorkeling, but it was already time to go. A shame, because we would have liked to prolong the moment.
