Mureung (South Korea)

This particularly beautiful valley is located around 15 kilometres from Donghae. The scenery is splendid, with crystal-clear water, impressive forests where you can hardly glimpse the sky in summer, ponds, waterfalls, a mountain stream, etc.

There are endless possibilities for hiking, but the maps available in English are quite limited, so I suggest you ask the locals for help. Even if few of them speak English, they will be happy to help you if you are lost. During your hike, take your time to enjoy the scenery and don't hesitate stop often to take pictures.

In the heart of the valley and the surrounding area you'll find a number of places of interest, such as the thousand-year-old temple of Samwhasa.
