Day 1: Welcome To Russia!

Fly to Moscow. 

A driver will collect you from the airport and take you to your hotel.

Day 2: Moscow City Tour

Grand city tour of Moscow in the morning.

After lunch, visit the Kremlin and the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, and stroll along Arbat Street.

Before dinner, explore the Moscow Metro system with a guide, then jump aboard the Imperial Russia train and begin your adventure!

Day 3: Explore 'Old Kazan'

Pull into Kazan after breakfast for a grand city tour of the Tartar capital on the picturesque banks of the Volga.

Enjoy the Tartar folklore epic 'Tugan Avalim,' and visit Kazan's Kremlin.

During lunch, discover the secrets of Tartar cuisine with a cooking a master class.

Depart Kazan in the evening, and dinner on board.

Day 4: Yekaterinburg

Explore Yekaterinburg with a city tour dedicated to the last days of last Russian tsar.

Visit the Church on Blood, commemorating the execution of Tsar Nicholas II and his family, whose temples are considered pearls of Russian design.

Enjoy a delicious lunch before visiting the Europe-Asia border's way-marker. Depart Yekaterinburg.

Day 5: Discover Novosibirsk

Breakfast on board before arrival in Novosibirsk.

Lunch, then sightseeing tour of: the Railway Museum, Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, ancient streets, and Ob River esplanade.

Dinner, then depart Novosibirsk.

Day 6: Free Day On Board

Enjoy activities on board.

Day 7: Irkutsk

Hop off at Irkutsk and tour its historical city centre.

Visit the Decembrists' Museum, the 'wooden lace' house (aka the House of Europe), and the city's most beautiful streets: Bolshaya Prospektnaya and Karl Marx Street.

Lunch at a city restaurant. 

Spend some free time at the 130 Quarter – Irkutsk Sloboda, a quarter re-constructed in the 19th & 20 Centuries.

Dinner in a restaurant. Depart Irkutsk.

Day 8: Along Lake Baikal's Shoreline

Arrive in Port Baikal and take a boat to some beautiful views around the southern part of the lake - a photographer's haven!

Visit Baikal Museum's displays of the flora and fauna of the lake and a local fish and souvenir market before returning to Port Baikal.

Enjoy a picnic on the shore of the lake for dinner.

Day 9: Ulan-Ude And The Buryat Lifestyle

Pull into Ulan-Ude and see the religious diversity and background of Russia with visits to Ivolginsky Datsan, Odigitria Cathedral, and Holy Trinity Church.

A local Buryat family will then welcome you with a reception in a traditional Yurt and folklore programme.

Learn how to cook the Buryat dish pozy, how to play dice, use a bow, wear a traditional Buryat costume, and assemble/disassemble a felt yurt!

Day 10: Ulan Bator And The Nomadic Lifestyle

Visit the main square and Zaisan WWII memorial.

In Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, set up a yurt camp and enjoy lunch.

Hike to the top of overlooking hills for wonderful views of the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park.

Visit a nomadic family for an introduction to the authentic lifestyle and culture of Mongolian nomads.

Taste traditional dairy food and try your hand at horse riding.

After dinner, watch the sunset and night stars on the steppe, before spending the night in a yurt.

Day 11: Mongolian History & Culture

After breakfast at the tcamp, transfer to Ulan Bator to visit Gandan Monastery, the Mongolian Natural History Museum and Winter Palace of the Bogd Khan.

Enjoy a Mongolian BBQ for lunch before watching a local folk show.

Day 12: Erenhot And The Sino-Mongolian Border

Pull into the border town of Erenhot and change onto a Chinese train that will continue the rest of the journey.

Day 13: Beijing And Tiananmen Square

Pull into Beijing and visit Tiananmen Square – the world's largest urban space, capable of fitting one million people, and hoe to the National Museum of China; the Great Hall of the People, the majestic Monument to the People's Heroes, and the Forbidden City.

After lunch, check-in to your hotel.

Dinner at the Quánjùdé Roast Duck Restaurant.
