Wadi Bani Khalid was one of the (many) nice surprises in the Sultanate of Oman. The path to get to the location of the entrance to the first pools has been developed, and it meanders along a small stream. Next, the first pools are large and sufficient for swimming. To get the most out of it, it's best to come early in the morning or late in the afternoon. But the Wadi Bani Khalid is not limited to only the developed area. By walking a little more, you'll discover a rocky gorge that has been smoothed by erosion, as well as turquoise water. Fewer people venture there, which is a perfect place to go for a swim in a little more natural setting.  This is where I swam, in these pools that are a little more remote. Beyond the wild aspect that I especially enjoy, it appeared to be more respectful to the local population, who are quite modest, to go swimming out of sight.  If you're a nature lover, Wadi Bani Khalid is a good stopover while on a <a href="/oman/">stay in Oman</a>.
