Misfat is a small village located near Al Hamra. Lost in the mountains, Misfat captivates with its serene atmosphere and palm grove.

My suggestion:
To enjoy Misfat's charm even more, it's possible to sleep on the premises in one of the village's few accomodations. Once the (few) tourists leave, you can soak up the peaceful atmosphere of the place.
Summary:

During my stay in Oman, I had planned on going to Misfat simply to have a place to stopover between Jebel Akhdar and Jebel Shams. As this option proved to be smart due to the long journey in the mountains, I had the pleasure of discovering that Misfat was a charming little Omani village. Located at the top of a valley, it overlooks a palm grove where people can walk along the falajs, like some people we came across along the way.

The village's few accomodations are in old earthen houses, which gives the traveler an opportunity to spend a night in a traditional habitat (which is rarely the case in Oman). In short, I ended up in this village a bit by accident, and I must admit that it is one of the best memories I have of my trip (because of sleeping on the premises).
