
There's no bad time to set off on your travels to Mauritius: it boasts a spectacular climate throughout the year! It is advisable to avoid visiting at the end of the year (between November and December), as the island gets very busy.
From December to March
Go diving in the areas surrounding Grande-Baie and Flic-en-Flac, where you can see numerous marine species. Mauritius has a stunning marine landscape which will never disappoint. Visit between December and March to dive and discover the best spots.
From June to August
The Island of Mauritius is famous for its surfing locations. Whether an experienced surfer or just surfing as a hobby, head to the waves in the area surrounding by Tamarin, one of the island's best spots. You are best advised to travel between June and August to get the best climate.
Between January and October
Learn to windsurf or kayak on the ocean surrounding the island of Mauritius. It is best to avoid the last months of the year. You can also learn to fish or go walking in the Macchabee Forest Reserve and the Black River Gorges National Park. Or why not take to the water in a yacht?

What could be more pleasant than travelling around the island's coast on a catamaran? This is one of the most popular activities on the island. There are many different routes to take from the island, for example to Gabriel Island or Île Plate, also known as Flat Island. Hit the high seas during the day to watch the dolphins, or set off on a romantic cruise at sunset.

Meanwhile, from the coast of the island you will discover whales, dolphins, tortoises. Don't miss out on the botanical gardens, such as the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam botanical garden. Travel when you want, however avoid the final months of the year when the island becomes overrun with tourists.
