Labuan Bajo, a fishing village located at the western tip of Flores island, is in the process of becoming an important Indonesian tourist town.

My suggestion:
Remember to book your room in advance if you arrive on a ferry from Sumbawa that gets in late in the day, otherwise your choices will be very limited.
Summary:

Labuan Bajo is a quickly expanding village that has less and less charm because of the many buildings rising out of the earth in all four corners of the town. Nevertheless, it attracts many tourists, come to discover the Komodo and Rinca islands or to dive nearby.

I spent a few days here, the time it took me to organise my excursion to Komodo and to rest from a long bus journey. There is not really much to do in town, apart from walk up and down, going from one restaurant and bar to another and the few boutiques managed by expats. At sunset, it is very pleasant to find a terrace high up so you can admire the view of the port. If you miss British food, Bajo Bakery is a real treat for breakfast or tea with its lovely breads, croissants, cakes, etc. It is the best address I discovered while on my trip to Indonesia and I absolutely recommend it.
