Tabanan is a region and a city in the centre of the island of Bali. The region stretches from the coast in the south to Lake Beratan in the north.

My suggestion:
The city of Tabanan itself does not have, in my opinion, particular attractions: it's better to not spend too long there and to leave to explore the surroundings which hide many treasures.
Summary:

What I saw of Tabanan centre did not really encourage me to stay there for a very long time. However, the Tabanan areahas a great number of things to see which are really worth stopping there for: a large amount of temples, but also spectacular scenery. Let's start with the temples.

Not far from the city of Tabanan, two kilometres to the north of Mengwi, the beautiful Pura Taman Ayun is located, an immense national temple surrounded by gardens in the middle of which several meru towers arise, representations of the sacred Hindu mountain. The region's other temples are the famous Tanah Lot, known for the view that it offers at sunset, and Batukaru temple, nestled in the middle of luscious vegetation.

The landscapes are not to be beaten since the region also boasts the superb rice fields of Jatiluwih, Bratan Lake and Ulun Danu Bratan, the black sand beach Yeh Gangga in the south and magnificent mountain roads that I encourage you to explore! Tabanan is a region not to be missed during your trip in Indonesia.
