Lake Toba is the biggest volcanic lake in the world.

My suggestion:
Try to stay in one of the guest rooms directly on the lakeside!
Summary:

The biggest volcanic lake in the world, Lake Toba stretches over 100 kilometres long and 30 kilometres wide. It's located at an altitude of 905 metres and reaches a depth of 505 metres! Nature loving travellers will be delighted!

I had only planned to stay there for 2 days, but I fell in love with this little corner of paradise and in the end I stayed for just under a week in Tuk-Tuk, a little village beside the lake. After having spent some days in Medan, I loved relaxing beside the water, walking along the lakeside, spending hours reading and making the most of the silence, breathing fresh air with the mountain ranges bordering the lake in the horizon.

Despite the altitude, the water temperature is very pleasant, don't hesitate to go for a dip in Lake Toba!
