Trekking, you discover Chesho after the long hours of solitude which separate it from Dartlo. You immediately feel like you're in a living village: new structures, brand new roofs... The villagers are investing in their village and plan to adapt it for tourism: several little guest houses have opened in the last few years, making Chesho the biggest centre for walkers in the region.
The village itself doesn't have any notable architectural features, though it has several dry stone houses typical of Tusheti, but its location is remarkable. On one side of a long, deep canyon is the village, nestled at the foot of a steep hill; on the other, at the top of the hill, are the beautiful ruins of a fortress. Below, the Alazani River and the start of the magnificent gorge which leads all the way to Parsma. 
Staying in Chesho then you'll rub shoulders with the villagers, their dogs, their herds and flocks, their horses and you'll no doubt attend their equestrian games and enjoy their formidable sense of hospitality.
