As with most small Armenian towns, Eghegnadzor doesn't have any outstanding features. It's small, its architecture is modern and it's basically a convenient stopover for those travelling through Armenia's southern mountains.
That said, the town is in the stunning, southern region of Eghegnadzor, sitting by a road that winds its way around this mountainous landscape. You don't need to head far from town to admire star-filled skies, away from the urban haze.
Those of you interested in architecture will like the Gitelik University, with its impressive columns, but my personal recommendation is that you head 30km north of town to the Selim Caravanserai. It's one of the best preserved of its kind and sits by a lovely lake. This site is well worth the detour during a trip to Armenia.
