The village of San Agustin del Valle Fertil is in the north east of San Juan. It's the main entrance point to Ischigualasto Park.

My suggestion:
If you get up at dawn and are well organised, it's possible to visit Ischigualasto Park and Talampaya Park (which is 80 km away) in one day.
Summary:

San Agustin del Valle Fertil is the main access point for Ischigualasto National Park (also called Valle de la Luna). It's a small town with 4,000 inhabitants which has managed to retain its traditional dress and customs. Most of the inhabitants are Diaguitas. Like their ancestors they live from making crafts, agriculture and raising animals. Thanks to their proximity to Ischigualasto National Park they also earn a bit of money from tourism.

Among the things you absolutely must see in the area are the Difunta Correa shrine (dedicated to a young woman who died so her baby could live) as well as the ruins of the Jesuit mission, Las Tumanas, . 80 km away you will find Talampaya Park. At San Juan, 250 km further on, don't forget to try the region's white and sparkling wines. So which do you prefer?  Vino blanco (white wine) or  vino espumante (sparkling wine)? Watch out - too much alcohol is not good for your health!
