A pretty town in southern Mendoza and a privileged getaway for the province's inhabitants to finish the week on a high note

My suggestion:
Notice to those who love rafting: go for a ride, it's obviously a famous location for that!
Summary:

I only spent two days in San Rafael and in this rather short time period, it seemed to me that the city itself didn't have much to offer. But the surroundings, on the other hand... Not being a fan of organised tours, I chose to find out what the region had to offer by taking my own personal drive.

This area's unconditional highlights are the Atuel Canyon and the Valle Grande; and if you go there while on your trip to Argentina, you'll understand why! The views are amazing, surprising and especially photogenic. You can also surf the rapids here, but I have no opinion on the subject, as I didn't attempt that adventure. However, I wasn't totally excited by the trip towards Los Reyunos Dam and its top rate Sunday tourist attraction aspect.

For those who love wine (or even those who don't), you can also hop on your bike to visit the area's bodegas... Hiccup!
