In the local dialect, "Apani Dhani" means "Our Hamlet", an affectionate name given to the place by Ramesh C. Jangid, founder of the ecolodge and a pioneer of a form of militant tourism in India, especially in Rajasthan and his own native region of Nawalgarh.

A large portion of the Markha Valley Trek is flat and the landscape along it fairly unvaried. After Nimaling, however, things change! The last day makes up for all the rest; so best to be in good shape for it.
The Nimaling camp is made up of a number of tents and a cheap restaurant, where you can eat and relax after the short day's walk from Hankar. You can also freshen up in the stream here and perhaps spend some time pondering the difference between a yak and a dzo before finally slipping (or trying to) into the arms of Morpheus.
The final day of the trek consists of an intense, two-hour climb up to Kongmaru La, the opportunity to enjoy incredible views out over the two valleys, an enjoyable descent down through the rocks and past the waterfalls (the best descent on the trek), and a final easy section that takes you the rest of the way to Shang Sumdo.
