The capital of Uttar Pradesh, located right in the heart of the country.

My suggestion:
Take the time to visit the Muslim monuments, mainly the Great Imambara with its three dimensional maze!
Summary:

First off, Lucknow is a large sweltering, polluted city, which doesn't make you want to stop there while on a stay in India. I went there in May, and I remember fierce and unpleasant heat.

However, for those who love religious architecture, art, and history, the city has many treasures that are worth a glance and a visit.

Lucknow is especially known for its absolutely amazing Muslim monuments that can be found throughout the city. Caution: don't be surprised if the entry price is a little high. There is a discount pass that you can get to visit all the monuments. You'll also find a lot of very good restaurants in the city center, and you can attend concerts and performances regularly.
