Located 1,500 km from Delhi, Mumbai is a frenetic, energetic, voracious, and disarming metropolis of 20 million people that is undergoing exponential, uncontrolled development. Shocking, intoxicating, and fascinating, Mumbai never fails to leave a mark on its visitors.
My suggestion
More than anywhere else in India, Mumbai's festivals are particularly lavish. The celebrations of Krishna, Ganesh, and Diwali are most spectacular.

If you want to escape the frenzy, go to the hanging gardens at Malabar Hill. Don't expect to find the hanging gardens of Babylon, but, the view is, nonetheless, amazing, particularly at sunset.
