Upon entering, the Temple of Edfu struck me as very imposing. It has been very well preserved. This allows you to see the different parts of a temple from this era, even if it has undergone some developments. To begin, the monumental entrance allows us to enter a courtyard surrounded by porticos. The granite statue of Horus lets you familiarise yourself with this falcon god. The courtyard overlooks a hypostyle hall and then rooms containing annexed chapels. I really enjoyed learning the layout of a temple and those elements which are still intact. The floral-patterned columns are magnificent. The inscriptions on the walls show the ritual which was followed to honour Horus. Their preserved condition is impressive, compared to others observed during my <a href="/egypt/">trip to Egypt.</a>
