The population of China: a world apart!

Bear in mind that China represents just over 19% of the global population! The 1.3 billion current inhabitants could be twice or three times as many if the one child policy had not been implemented. It must be said that it brought about a fundamental change in Chinese society, that enabled women to learn to manage their fertility, but also led to a blatant shortage of girls (and now, women - and wives) in some regions.
