Famous and influential celebrities in China

Being famous in China results in a level of popularity that is hard to imagine, given the size and population of the country! It only takes a chance encounter with a celebrity outside the Fook Lam Moon restaurant in Hong Kong's Wanchai District to recognize this. As soon as they get out of their cars, the stars are subject to a constant barrage from the photographers assigned to the entrance, 365 days per year. It's impossible to miss the singers and actors, writers and starlets who are out to be recognized. I remember encountering one starlet who was wearing heels so high that she almost toppled right onto the sidewalk!
