Khwai is a village situated on the edge of the Moremi Game Reserve. It's the perfect base camp from which to explore the northern part of the Okavango Delta. A number of luxury lodges can be found along the banks of River Khwai.

My suggestion:
Be warned that you'll need to travel by four-wheel drive to reach this region. Also, bear in mind that between May and August some roads linking Khwai and Maun may be flooded, as it's the rainy season. Check things out in advance.
Summary:

I really liked the little village of Khwai. It caters for all budgets - you can't always find easy, reasonably priced places to camp in Botswana. Situated close to the Moremi Reserve's north gate, you'll find a public campsite opposite the village. Very practical if you arrive by four-wheel drive with your own camping gear.

I stayed in one of the luxury lodges beside the river - the oldest and most prestigious safari camp on River Khwai. The safaris were mind-blowing. I spotted the Big 5, including several leopards (a rare sight indeed) and a pack of wild dogs. Being beside the river, where the delta narrows, is an advantage, as it's here that wild animals congregate.
