Nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains, Goris is a superb little town that's well worth the detour.
My suggestion
If you're travelling by car/motorbike etc., bear in mind that journeys can, due to the winding roads, take a long time - so be patient and drive carefully!

A town without pretensions in the heart of a region that mixes nature and history to perfection.
My suggestion
Make sure you visit Tatev monastery, one of the most beautiful of Armenia's buildings in a magnificent setting.

Goris is a town in southeastern Armenia with grey stone houses and ornate wooden balconies giving it a unique character.
My suggestion
A few miles from Goris, there is an abandoned cave dwelling village, which you access by taking a long bridge suspended over a deep gorge. This place, not well-known by tourists and tourist guides, is definitely worth a visit.
