You'll enjoy strolling around Córdoba's pleasant streets, which weave their way around the city's main square, "San Martin". In the historic centre of Córdoba stands the magnificent Manzana Jesuitica (Jesuit Block), a group of Spanish colonial buildings that were inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage in 2000. Several traditional events take place in and around Córdoba. The Cosquín Folk Festival, held in January, is a celebration of the country's traditional "cuarteto" style of music. One event not to miss is the Oktoberfest, Argentina's national beer festival, which is held in the village of Villa General Belgrano each year. But it's the traditional gaucho festivals that will really give you a flavour of the essence of Argentina. You really have to visit one of these at least once <a href="/argentina/">during your trip</a>. If you have a little time to spare, I also recommend a trip to the Che Guevara Museum in the city of Alta Gracia, around 38 kilometres south of Córdoba.

I arrived in the city of Cordoba at night, and what a welcome it was! Without a second thought, I discovered the local nightlife with a couple of students from the area completely by chance, who helped me find a place to stay. A memorable party, with a few beers and some cumbia music... Let's go!
Luckily, during the day this place is worthwhile (despite the lingering headache): the architecture is nice, with countless churches and museums, as well as artistic and charitable organisations to discover away from the streets of the city centre. It is also the country’s second largest city, meaning that you’ll find lots of shopping centres, cinemas, etc... If you're ever in need of major retailers.
My two favourite places in the area: La Cumbre and La Cumbrecita, villages located about 60 miles from the capital (the first one is to the north, and the other to the south). Two atmospheres that are bit neo-hippie in nature and full of the type of activities that this implies. So whether you're athletic, a fan of beautiful buildings or urban culture, don't hesitate to take a trip there during <a href="/argentina/">your trip to Argentina</a>!
