A charming village at an altitude of 2,400 m in the province of Jujuy. The ideal base for visiting Quebrada de Humahuaca.

My suggestion

If you like trekking or horse riding then you should visit the countryside around Tilcara, either for a few hours or for a whole day - the scenery is breathtaking.

Tilcara's surroundings, especially the walk to Garganta del Diablo, are worth the visit.
