I really enjoyed stopping at Popa Falls, going up the Caprivi Strip to Victoria Falls. The scenery is magnificent by this part of the river. The rapids drop down just 4 metres, which isn't very impressive, but the river is wide with small islands and the current is strong.  
It's an opportunity to stop for a nice rest. Bushmenrun the two camps and organise hikes (the camps on the east bank boast a breathtaking panorama). They will also take you to observe the hippos at night. They're very active then as they come out of the water to graze on the grass, which is almost all over the camps, whereas during the day, they stay in the water and are seen less often.
