Day 1: Welcome to Hanoi 

Pick-up from Noi Bai International Airport and transfer to your hotel.

Welcome dinner at a local restaurant, followed by an authentic water puppet show.

Day 2: Hanoi Sightseeing

Full-day city tour to visit: 
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the House on Stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple, the Vietnam History Museum, the Fine Arts Museum, and the Temple of Literature.

Food & Wine Pairing Dinner at the award-winning Press Club restaurant.

Day 3: Arts, Crafts, and Ceramics

Free time to explore the markets, shops, and art galleries of the Old Quarter.

In the afternoon, visit to Bat Trang ceramics village, for a lesson in pottery-making.  

Buffalo cart trip around the village, then back to Hanoi for dinner before transferring to the train station ready for an overnight trip to Lao Cai.

Day 4: Cat Cat Villages

Arrival into Lao Cai Train Station at 6am.

From here, you'll have a 1.5 hour transfer to Sapa.
Breakfast at hotel, then you're free to explore the town.

Afternoon walking tour to Cat Cat Villages, home to the Black H'mong people.

Day 5: Trekking in Sapa

Embark on a 3 to 4 hour morning trek along buffalo paths which wind through the hill tribe villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van.

Lunch at a local restaurant, then transfer back to Sapa by car for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Bac Ha Sunday Hill Tribe Market

Early departure for the vibrant Bac Ha Sunday Hill tribe market, a 2-hour drive from Sapa. 

Walking tour to the village of Ban Pho, where you'll taste and learn how to make 'Bac Ha homemade maize wine.' 

Back to lao Cai for dinner, then board your overnight train to Hanoi.

Day 7: Ha Long Bay

Arrival into Hanoi at 05:00, then your city tour begins at Hanoi Flower Market.

Breakfast and 3-hour transfer to Halong Bay.

Welcome lunch on board, then cruise through the limestone islands of the bay.

Visit to a local fishing village before heading back on board for cocktails at sunset and a cooking class.

Dinner and evening activities (film, or beauty treatments etc).

Day 8: Sung Sot Cave

Early rise for a tai chi lesson on board, or choose from other activities like kayaking.

Buffet breakfast, then head off to Sung Sot Cave before Tuần Châu Island, then private transfer to Hoa Lu.

Evening is free to spend at your own leisure.

Day 9: Biking in Ninh Binh

Cycle trip through the countryside, heading to the ancient Hoa Lu Citadel.

Explore the temples of King Dinh and King Le, before continuing by bike to Tam Coc.

Lunch near the pier, then a 3-hour sampan trip along the Boi River to discover Tam Coc Caves.

Continue biking to Bich Dong Pagoda, return to your car and head back to Ninh Binh for your overnight stay.

Day 10: Citadel of the Ho Dynasty

On to Quang Binh, a province on the North Central Coast.

En route, stop off to visit the impressive UNESCO-listed Citadel of the Ho Dynasty. 

Continue driving to Nhat Le beach in Quang Binh for an overnight stay.

Day 11: Ke Bang National Park

Morning boat trip on the Son River to visit the 400m-high Tien Son Cave.

Back on board to explore the underground river.

Return to Nha Le Beach for an overnight stay.

Day 12: The Demilitarised Zone

Morning departure from Quand Binh to Hue. Stop off to visit part of the DMZ, including the Vinh Moc Tunnels, Cua Tung Beach, the Ben Hai River, and the Quand Tri Citadel.

Overnight stay in Hue.

Day 13: Hue Sightseeing

Morning cruise along the Perfume River. First stop: Thien Mu Padoga.

From here, return to your car and head to King Minh Mang and King Tu Duc's tombs.

Afternoon visit to Hue Citadel, the Forbidden Purple City, the Imperial Museum, and Dong Ba Market. 

Luxurious dinner at a local restaurant in Hue, and overnight stay.

Day 14: Hue, My Son, Hoi An

Travel over Hai Van Pass to the My Son Cham Ruins, the former capital of the ancient civilisation.

Drive on to Hoi An for an overnight stay.

Day 15: Hoi An: Fishing and Rural Life

Half-day walking tour in the Ancient QuarterVisit Chua Ong Pagoda, the Chinese Assembly Halls, Tam Ky Ancestral House, and the Japanese Bridge. 

Afternoon bike ride along rural country roads. 
Sampan trip on the Thu Bon River before a lesson in net fishing and paddling in bamboo basket boats.

Cycle back to town.

Day 16: Spectacular Beaches In ​Qui Nhon

Day 17: Explore The Cham Towers

Full day dedicated to visiting the fascinating Cham Towers.

Day 18: Transfer from Qui Nhon to Nha Trang

Day 25: Enter the Cu Chi Tunnels

Half-day private excursion into the 200km-long underground network of the Cu Chi Tunnels.

Day 26: Ho Chi Minh City, My Tho, Can Tho

Depart Ho Chi Minh for My Tho. Upon arrival, set off on a boat trip to four islets: Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise.

Visit traditional houses constructed from coconut in Quoi An Village, and savour seasonal fruit.

Horse cart ride in the village to Ben Truc Orchard, where you can taste honey tea or Mekong whisky.

Lunch in a local restaurant, then on to Can Tho and Dong Tam Snake Farm.

Day 27: Mekong's Floating Market

Early start for the Cai Rang Floating Market on a 'The Lady Hau' cruise.

Breakfast on board, then continue sailing on to a noodle factory and orchard.
