Day 2: A Day In Vietnam's Capital

Breakfast, then jump head first into Hanoi's sights and sounds on a city tour.
You'll visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, its Mausoleum, Uncle Ho's former stilt-house residence, the Presidential Palace, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, and the Museum of Ethnology.Set off on a 1 hour cyclo ride through the streets of the Old Quarter. In the evening, sit down to a traditional water puppet show before overnight stay.

Day 3: Hoa Lu Citadel And Tam Coc 

Breakfast, then 2 hour drive to Hoa Lu.

Guided tour through the palaces, pagodas, tombs and pavilions of the ancient complex.

3 hour sampan cruise in the afternoon along the waterways of Tam Coc.

Cycle ride through the countryside to visit Bich Dong Pagoda.

Return to Hanoi and overnight on a cruise boat along Halong Bay.

Alternative for Day 3: 4 hour street food and market tour led by a local expert guide.

Day 4: Serenity In Halong Bay

Day 5: Caves, Kakaying, And On To Hoi An

Early morning swim or tai-chi class before breakfast.

Visit one of the caves in the middle of the bay.

Cruise back to the harbour for a 4 hour drive to Noi Bai Airport.

Late afternoon flight to Danang.

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in Hoi An.

Day 6: Guided Walking Tour Of Hoi An

At 9 AM, set off on your guided walking tour of the old town.

On the agenda: the 400-year old Japanese Bridge, the Phuc Kien Assembly Halls, a museum, and the colourful local market.

Lunch, then free time in the afternoon/evening.

Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 7: Free Time To Explore The City

Take a day to explore Hoi An's World Heritage architecture and sites.

Suggestions: Vietnam's grandest Cham ruins at My Son, a cooking class at a riverside restaurant, a photography tour, a boat trip to Cu Lao Cham Island, or get up close and personal with daily farming and fishing life.

Day 8: ​Ho Chi Minh City Tour

Morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

In the afternoon, embark on a guided city tour of the War Remnants Museum, the Reunification Palace, the former South Vietnam Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office, and Ben Thanh market.

Back to your hotel by around 17:00.

Day 9: Cooking Class And Cu Chi Tunnels

7:30 AM departure for the Agricultural Village.

Guided visit of a local farm and organic garden.

Select herbs and vegetables from the garden and learn how to cook a 3 course Vietnamese meal under the guidance of your professional chef.

Afternoon drive to Cu Chi Tunnels for a guided visit.

Return to Ho Chi Minh City at around 18:00.

Day 10: Mekong Delta By Bicycle And Boat

In the morning, head south to Vinh Long in the lush Mekong Delta.

Arrival at Cai Thia, then walk along the canal to visit Cai Thia Church, My Luong Temple, and some brick kilns.

Sampan cruise to a local house where they produce rice paper.

Cycle through the countryside roads of Hoa Loc villages. Call in at a friendly family's house for green tea and some local specialities.

Lunch on the boat and cruise to An Binh Island

Once at Luc Cu Canal, a row boat will take you deeper into the countryside of the Delta.

Stop off at another local family's for fresh tropical fruits and a traditional music performance.

Disembark at 16:00 for a private transfer to Can Tho for where you'll stay overnight.

Day 11: Cai Rang Floating Market

Boat cruise to visit Cai Rang floating market.

Continue on a small canal to a fruit garden for a guided tour (including tasting the produce).

Return to Can Tho and observe the rural life and lush vegetation along the riverbanks.

Lunch en-route to Chau Doc and check-in upon arrival. 

Head off to Sam Mountain, for a view across the Vietnamese-Cambodian border.

Day 12: Speedboat Along The Mekong River

Transfer to a speed boat for your journey to Phnom Penh.

Upon arrival, you'll be met by your local guide and driver, and taken to your hotel.

Day 13: Full Day Tour Of Phnom Penh

Morning tour of Phnom Penh. 

Visit the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, the National Museum, and the riverside.

Optional activity in Phnom Penh: visit the Killing Fields to learn about Cambodia's dark past.

Day 14: Siem Reap - Angkor Wat

Airport transfer for your flight to Siem Reap.

Head to Angkor Wat to explore the ancient temple complex.

As dusk nears, a walk to the summit of Phnom Bakheng Hill will afford a panorama of the whole complex lit by the setting sun.

Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 15: Angkor Thom And Ta Prohm Monastery

Visit Angkor Thom, starting with the Bayon, a structure of several architectural changes reflecting a switch from Hinduism to Buddhism.

Lunch, then head off to see Ta Prohm Monastery.

Day 16: Tonle Sap Lake And Floating Village

Breakfast, then transfer to Siem Reap River for a boat trip to Tonle Sap Lake.
