The itinerary has been created by our local agency with one idea in mind: to inspire you. Every element can be adapted to your needs and interests, from duration to accommodation and activities.

Day 1: Colonia walking tour

Arrival at Colonia´s Ferry Terminal and transfer to the selected hotel. In the afternoon you will join a Walking Tour of this charming UNESCO Village. During this tour you will be able to see two different architectural styles (Spanish and Portuguese) together. Colonia was founded in 1680 and it was “The apple of discord” between Portugal and Spain during almost a century.

You will visit the Historical Neighborhood where you will find: Sighs Street, Holy Sacrament Church, the Lighthouse, Portuguese and Spanish museums, the Tile Museum (tickets not included). We also see the San Carlos Royal with its old bullring, San Benito Church and the Port.

Back to the downtown of Colonia. Return to the hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Montevideo

After breakfast, transfer to the bus terminal where you will take your regular coach to Montevideo (Duration 02:30hrs) upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 3: Visiting Montevideo

After breakfast, pick up from the hotel, the tour will take you into the heart of the old town visiting the Matriz Square with the first potable water fountain in the colonial Montevideo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Cabildo(First Town Hall) and Uruguay Social Club. You will see places such as the Solis Theatre, the Independence Square, which stands a monument dedicated to the national hero Jose Artigas and His Mausoleum, the citadel gate, Salvo Palace and Estevez Palace (Old Governmental House).

Then you will take the main avenue 18 de Julio lined with shops, restaurants, bars and office buildings. On Libertador Avenue we’ll find the Parliament building called “Legislative Palace”, a magnificent construction entirely covered with local marble and granites. The tour will continue to the fancy neighborhood of Prado which hosts the famous monuments dedicated to the “Last Charruas Indian” and the “Diligencia”(Stage-Coach), Presidential House. Artigas Boulevard, Governmental House, The Obelisk, Batlle Park, Athletic Track, “La Carreta” (Covered Wagon) monument and the Centenario Stadium.

You will continue to the residential area of Carrasco and will take the promenade along the “Rio de la Plata” to return to the downtown passing by the neighborhoods of Punta Gorda with a stop at Virgilio Square for the panoramic view of the city, Malvin, Buceo with the Yacht port, Yacht Club, Pocitos, Punta Carretas, Golf Club, Rodo Park, and the Mercosur Building. Return to the hotel. Rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 4: Discover the amazing Punta Del Este

After breakfast, you will start the tour leaving Montevideo driving along the promenade until you arrive to the Interbalnearia Route, passing by through the different beaches which will lead us to Piriapolis, one of our most important seaside resorts. You will see its gorgeous promenade, The Argentino Hotel and you will ascend the “San Antonio” hill with a stop at the top for a beautiful panoramic view.

You will continue to Punta Ballena where you will find the famous museum “Casapueblo”, house of the Uruguayan artist Carlos Paez Vilaro.

Free time to visit the museum (ticket not included).

Later you will arrive to Punta del Este driving along the residential neighborhoods to admire the beautiful houses and gardens, visiting the Mansa and Brava Beaches, Maldonado´s Barra and the Port. Free time for lunch (optional) and personal activities over Gorlero, the main avenue in the center of Punta. Our tour returns to Montevideo but you will stay in this amazing city.

Day 5: Leisure day on Brava and Mansa beaches

Today you will have a free day to explore the city on your own, you can enjoy the calm beaches of Punta Del Este, Brava and Mansa Beaches are the most famous ones in town.

Day 6: End of tour in Uruguay

After breakfast, check out, at the appropriate time transfer to the bus terminal where you take a regular coach back to Montevideo, where our services end.
