Tobago is an easy destination to discover. You can circle the island in less than a day. But there is a large variety of landscapes, housing an incredible amount of birds and surrounding little villages where the people will welcome you with a large smile on their faces. It’s not just an image: Tobago really is a beach-lover’s paradise. If you find a beach in Tobago that doesn’t tempt you to take a quick dip or a bath in the sun, please tell us about it. Nevertheless, a few beaches really stand out. We’ve picked 9 of our favourites for their accessibility, cleanliness, facilities, on-site refreshments, safety, ambience, and the quality of the waters.See more
The itinerary has been created by our local agency with one idea in mind: to inspire you. Every element can be adapted to your needs and interests, from duration to accommodation and activities.
You’ll spend the first night at Crown point, 10’ walking from the airport and our guide will spend the necessary time with you to present all the aspects of your holiday. Night at the hotel in B&B.
You’ll first of all receive the key of a nice little Jimny type car rental in order to be able to discover the island in total freedom. Pigeon point beach will be your first stop and you’ll remember for long the pristine waters where you’ll enjoy your first swim. Windsurfs, kitesurfs, kayaks and SUP are available for rental. You’ll have to pay a 3€ fee for accessing Pigeon point. Night at the hotel in B&B.
It’s not included in our trip but you’ll be able to discover the famous reef of Bucco on a snorkelling or glass bottom boat trip. It only takes 15 minutes from Bucco to be on the reef. Night at the hotel in B&B.
The road to Speyside is an exceptionally pleasant experience. Going through little villages and stopping at the best beaches like Castara or Charloteville, it will give you a very promising idea of the general Tobago scenery. Arriving in the North, you’ll discover the little village called Speyside, at which end is situated your hotel, the Blue Waters Inn for your overnight.
Your hotel is situated on a very secluded beach apart from the main Speyside bay. You can choose to go diving with the diving centre situated inside the hotel. VIP service guaranteed! If you’re lucky, you’ll even be swimming with Mana rays, very frequently seen at Speyside. I personally spend half an hour swimming with a mother and a baby. Night as usual.
After a 20 minutes’ drive from Speyside, you’ll leave your little Jimny in Charlotteville and take a walk to the famous beach of Pirate’s bay. A 107 steps staircase will guide you to this gorgeous beach, at the bottom of the rainforest, where a small river ends in a nice little waterfall used by the sail men to fill their freshwater tanks.
After spending some “liming” time at the beach, you’ll probably enjoy a nice local menu at Sharon and Phoebes restaurant at the other end of Charlotteville. Night at the hotel with breakfast included.
After leaving Speyside for Charlotteville, you’ll head south to Castara using the nice scenic road on the leeward side of the island. You will take a break and have a good swim in Englishman’s bay where you will find a little beach-restaurant. Upon arrival in Castara, you’ll be given the keys for your apartment, on the beachfront! Night at the hotel.
Castara is THE place to learn to “lime”. Just buy a drink in one of the few places around and spend a full day at the beach, one of the nicest on the island. The fishermen cleaning the fish will easily discuss with you and explain their fishing methods if you are interested. Night at the hotel.
For once, this day will be forest orientated. Castara being nested between the Ocean and the rainforest, is surrounded by diverse rivers and waterfalls. Mason Hall is one of the easiest to reach and nicest to see on the island, take your Jimny and go! Back to Castara for the Sunset, you’ll probably enjoy a good snorkel with the rays that live in front of the fishermen’s house.
On this last day of your trip, you’ll head back to the South, give your Jimnys keys back to the rental agency and head directly to Storebay, minutes from the rental office and from the airport. This beach is highly appreciated by the locals and you will find showers onsite. Very useful before flying back to your country!
