Day 1: Arrival - Welcome to Tanzania

Following your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you shall be collected by a driver who will take you to Moshi where you will spend the first night of your holiday at the lovely Honey Badger Lodge. Get some rest following your long flight. If time allows take a dip in the refreshing waters of the pool. In the evening enjoy a well deserved hearty dinner at the lodge.

Day 2: Kirua village excursion

The village of Kirua, high on the slopes of Kilimanjaro is where the Renju Family originated from and as a result you could have the opportunity to spend some time staying at their small family home in a truly rural setting. There are some fabulous hiking opportunities in the village as well as opportunities to share in the meals and daily activities of the local Chagga tribes people. On this trip you will be accompanied by a guide who will help to translate and to ease the cultural contrast. 

Make your own cup of coffee : You will have the chance to make your own cup of coffee – from picking to roasting and finally grinding the coffee beans. 

Hike to waterfalls : Hike from the Renju family home to a nearby waterfall and enjoy the stunning scenery of this truly pristine setting.

Day 3: Canoeing in Arusha National Park

Today after breakfast start your day with a short drive into Arusha National Park. Often overlooked and underrated by travellers, Arusha National Park offers gentle opportunities for game drives as well as several other activities such as walking safaris or canoeing. 

Canoeing Tour on Lake Momella : Enjoy a peaceful and scenic canoeing safari following the shorelines of small Momella Lake. On this 2- 2.5 hours canoe safari you can view buffaloes, bushbuck, giraffes, hippos and many water birds living in and close to the water.

Day 4: Lake Manyara Treetop Walkway

Today you will continue your safari and drive further West into Lake Manyara National Park. When approaching the Lake from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment lays the horizon, forming an impressive back drop to the lake. In the tall trees of the ground water forest, monkeys leap from branch to branch, on the escarpment elephants stand in the shade. 

Lake Manyara Treetop Walkway : This 370m treetop walkway starts with a short board-walk that gradually rises from ground level up through the canopy of the forest. You walk over a series of suspension bridges with thick netting on the sides, and reach a height of 18m off the ground. Each of the bridges end on a viewing deck situated around tree trunks. These treetop platforms are perfect places to stop and enjoy life in the canopy amongst butterflies, monkeys and birds. 

Half day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park : In the afternoon enjoy a half day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. This is also the best time to view animals in this park. Animals frequently seen in Lake Manyara National Park include zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, warthogs among many others.

Day 5: Game drive in Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast you will be driven down into Ngorongoro Crater and enjoy a half day game drive. The Ngongorongoro Crater is located with the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a more than 8,000 sqm large protected area and World Heriatge Site. 

Game drive in Ngorongoro Crater : The Crater is undoubtedly one of the best places to see the rare black rhino in Africa, not to mention the prides of lion and the magnificent black-mane lions. There are lots of colourful flamingos and the variety of water birds. In the crater you are also likely to see leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, many members of the antelope family, and small mammals of all sorts. Enjoy a half day game drive in the crater.

Day 6: Mto Wa Mbu Village

Today you will spend a couple of hours in Mto Wa Mbu, a small town adjacent to the Lake Manyara National Park. This region is inhabited by people of more than 120 different tribes who live peacefully side by side. 

Cultural Tour in Mto Wa Mbu : Walk along the streets of Mto wa Mbu, a bustling Tanzanian village. Visit local artisans, learn about making banana beer, visit farms and plantations, and enjoy a traditional Tanzanian lunch.

Days 7 to 9: Zanzibar – the Spice Island

Today you will fly to Zanzibar for your Swahili island experience. You will be staying at one of the island’s most popular beaches in Jambiani. Enjoy the comfort and privacy of your very own villa on the beach.

Day 10: Time to say goodbye - departure
