The magnificent beach at Muyuni is located in the far north of Zanzibar, just across from Mnemba Island and not far from the village of Matemwe.

My suggestion:
Make absolutely sure you include the option to have a picnic on this beach when organising your snorkelling trip to Mnemba Island.
Summary:

The beach at Muyuni is one of the most beautiful, unspoiled and difficult to access in Zanzibar. All the organised tours (both those operated by agencies and those operated by local fishermen) to Mnemba Island stop here, whether that's for the chance to spend a few hours just lounging around and relaxing, to have lunch, or to have what they refer to as a picnic.

We were completely astonished at what this consisted of: a plateful of lobster, shellfish and grilled fished for two people cooked by the fishermen right on the beach and accompanied by a good salad – it was simply divine!

Nobody comes to bother the tourists who venture out to this remote spot. You just see passing fishing boats from time to time, or women from the surrounding villages who come to collect crabs. Visiting here left us with a wonderful memory of our holidays.
