Day 1: Colombo - Arrival & Welcome

Upon arrival, you'll be met by a representative from our local travel agency and transferred to your hotel. Depending on the time of your flight, you and your family will have the whole day to relax and acclimatise to the weather or explore your surroundings on foot.

Day 2: The Golden Circle - Sigiriya Rock

Today, your adventure begins. After breakfast, you'll be picked up from your hotel and taken to Sri Lanka's famous 'Cultural Triangle': Sigiriya. From there, you'll set off on a guided tour of Sigiriya Rock, a fascinating ancient village built into a rock.

Day 3: Polonnaruwa - Ancient City Tour & Elephant Safari

On the agenda for today: the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. After a private guided tour, you'll get to enjoy a delicious lunch at a family-run restaurant in which all of the ingredients are sourced from the local area. In the afternoon, you and your family will be treated to a safari at Minneriya National Park, famous for its large herds of elephants.

Day 4: Dambulla - Cave Temple

Today, you'll set off towards the Knuckles Mountain Range, stopping off to visit the mysterious site of Dambulla Cave Temple with your private guide on the way.

Day 5: Knuckles Mountain Range - Guided Family Hike

Day 6: Kandy - Ancient Kingdom of Sri Lanka

It's time to leave the beautiful greenery of Knuckles behind as you head towards Kandy Temple with your private guide. You'll have the rest of the day free to relax and put your feet up ready for your next adventure.

Day 7: Kelani River - White Water Rafting

The water calls... Today, you'll set off towards Kithulgala, famous for various water activities on the Kelani River. You and your family can choose between a guided white-water rafting, abseiling, canyoning or canoeing trip.

Day 8: Kithulgala - Free Day

Day 9: Nuwara Eliya - Train Ride to Ella

Today, your journey continues to the hill country. Your first top is Nuwara Eliya, from where you'll take the train to Ella. This train ride is considered by many to be the most beautiful in the world, so have your cameras ready!

Day 10: Ella - Little Adams Peak & Tea Factory Visit

Saddle up for another guided hike through the stunning scenery of Ella. You'll pass the Nine Arches Bridge, and Little Adams Peak, before arriving at a tea plantation where you and your family can sample some world-famous Sri Lankan tea.

Day 11: Udawalawe - Ravana Waterfalls & Safari

Today, you'll continue south towards Udawalawe with your private guide. On the way, you'll get hte opportunity to stretch your legs at the beautiful Ravana Waterfalls and Buduruwagala Temple. Upon arrival in Udawalawe, the second safari of your tour will commence. Look out for elephants, sloth bears, leopards, crocodiles, and water buffalo.

Day 12: Udawalawe - Elephant Transit House

After breakfast, you'll be taken to the Udawalawe Elephant Transit House, where you and your family can watch baby elephants being fed and looked after. In the afternoon, your guide will take you south to the coast for the final part of your tour: five days at the beach!
