Customisable trip itinerary

This tour idea is fully customisable

The itinerary has been created by our local agency with one idea in mind: to inspire you. Every element can be adapted to your needs and interests, from duration to accommodation and activities.

Day 1: Welcome to Portugal

Arrive at Lisbon Airport and pick up your rental car. First stop will be at Alcacer do Sal, a historical town crowned by castles whose medieval cobbled streets, worn over time, cluster around the banks of the Sado River. In a picture-book scene of hills with a light mantle of cork oak trees sits Montemor-o-Novo. It's an unpretentious town In the middle of the Alentejo countryside

Day 2: UNESCO Architecture of Evora

Classified as a World Heritage by UNESCO since 1986. Évora is called the "White City" or “City Museum”. Évora dazzles his visitors with lush architecture, art, monumental churches, historic squares, white houses and narrow medieval streets.

Day 3: White City of Estremoz

Estremoz is one of the “white cities” in Alentejo. You can recognise it from far away for its white houses, spread across a hill. They are encircled by old walls and protected by the impressive donjon.

Day 4: Frontier Fortress Town of Elvas

Elvas is truly one of Portugal's hidden gems. A historic and wonderfully preserved town listed on the UNESCO World Heritage list and situated on the arid plains of the Portuguese-Spanish border.

Day 5: Medieval Marvão

Marvão is a spectacular medieval walled village perched almost 900 meters high (the highest village in Portugal), on a rocky crest. The steep and narrow cobbled streets lined with immaculately whitewashed houses, wind their way up to an impressive fortress dating from the late 13th century, which offers a stunning 360-degree panorama view. Marvão is definitely one of Portugal’s most spectacular fortified villages.

Day 6: Delightful Castelo de Vide

Located among olive groves and chestnut trees in the cool mountain region of Natural Park. This enchanting little town is a place of flowers, fountains, orchards, chapels and lovely little squares, steep alleyways lead up to the castle through a 16th-century village. Just about every house in the old town center is resplendent with window boxes and rows of flowerpots. The result is a wonderful view and a very charming town

Day 7: Alqueva Dam and Monsaraz

In the morning you will go to Alqueva Dam, considered the largest artificial lake in Europe and the seventh largest Portuguese dam covering 5 counties of the Alentejo. After lunch, you will go to Monsaraz village, ringed by a perfectly preserved medieval wall, criss-crossed with cobbled streets and with whitewashed bell towers

Day 8: Mertola

Mertola is rarely mentioned in the lists of best villages in Portugal and yet it is quite a place to visit! Nestled between River Guadiana and one of its tributaries, this Portugal village is s tunning with the white houses against the dry landscape. A largely undiscovered gem.

Day 9: Free Time at the Beach

Finally, some time to relax. The Algarve is the beautiful coastline of southern Portugal, which is comprised of golden beaches, stunning scenery and picturesque fishing towns.

Day 10: Free Time at the Beach

Continue to explore and relax in the Algarve.

Day 11: Free Time at the Beach
