After breakfast, you will start the day on a guided tour to three sites listed by UNESCO as world heritage. Pashupatinath, one of the sacred temples of South Asia. Bhaktapur, medieval city also former royal palace, inhabited mostly by Hindus. Transfer to Nagarkot, a village located 32 km east of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2,195m, which offers a splendid panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayas.
In the morning, you’ll be struck by the beautiful sunrise view of the Himalayan range. Then, head on to sites listed as UNESCO world heritage. Swayambhunath: this 2500 year old stupa is situated on a hill overlooking Kathmandu valley. Next stop: Kathmandu Durbar Square. Situated in the heart of the city, Kathmandu’s old town is formed by palaces of the Malla and Shah Kings as well as numerous temples, the most famous of which is that of the living goddess Kumari Bahal.
The day concludes with a visit to the ancient city of Patan, also known as Lalitpur, which means 'city of fine arts.
Early morning departure to the Chitwan National Park (175 km / 6 hours). On arrival transfer to hotel. Chitwan means “heart of the jungle”. This park is located in the lower region of the country, the Terai at the foot of the Himalayas.
You will have lunch at the hotel before embarking on a 4 * 4 safari in the park, with a guide naturalist. You will then enjoy a local dance in the Tharu village in the evening.
The southern plains of Nepal were covered with dense tropical jungles teeming with fascinating wildlife and exotic birds. The one-horned rhino, Royal Bengal tiger, leopards, elephants, crocodiles, pythons and black bears in the Himalayas were the stars of this permanent show from hundreds of other species of wild animals, including 450 species of colorful birds . The safari is an excellent opportunity to observe all these animals!
Early morning departure towards Pokhara. After a 5 hour drive, we arrived in the village which offers mountain lovers beautiful views of the Dhaulagiri peaks Machapuchre, the five peaks of Annapurna and many other. Pokhara is the only place in the world offering views so spectacular, in a subtropical environment. In the afternoon, enjoy a free boat ride on Phewa lake by visiting the temple of Barahi.
You get up early to explore the city of Sarangkot which is on the Pokhara heights. From there you can admire the magnificent sunrise over the Himalayas. You then return to the hotel for breakfast and start your day around Pokhara valley. You will visit the " Devi's fall ", the cave of Gupteshwor , and the International Museum of the mountains and the stupa of World Peace.
After breakfast at Pokhara, you drive for about an hour until Kande, before beginning the hike. The trail is steep; you trek on a stone staircase for about 1.5 hours before reaching the Australian camp, located on the ridge and having a magnificent view of the Southern summit of Annapurna, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre and Lamjung Himal. Australian camp is on a beautiful hilltop and offers breathtaking views of the valleys and of the Annapurna range.
From the Australian Camp, you walk down and continue through the jungle trail to the village of Dhampus. Lunch in the village of Dhampus and then another hour to walk to Phedi, through farmland terraced rice. From Phedi drive to your hotel and enjoy an evening free of leisure.
Back from Pokhara to Kathmandu. After a 6 hours drive, you will have lunch in Kathmandu and later enjoy a free afternoon. Treat yourself , buy local souvenir, why not a detour to enjoy the spa? You can also do several walks in the valley. Those who are physically fit can rent a bicycle, preferably a mountain bike (MTB ) if the destination requires browse the slopes to the crest. We can also arrange for you to take a flight over the Himalayan chain.
Patan, the second largest city in the valley south of Kathmandu, was once called Lalitpur. The Beautiful City is considered the cradle of arts and Newari architecture that have left their mark throughout the valley. Patan is famous for its crafts and metalwork. North of the square sits the Buddhist monastery Golden temple, the place of Buddhist worship being the busiest in the city. We will also see "Swayambhunath", one of the oldest stupas in the valley west of Kathmandu located on the top of a hill. Finally, we visit "Thamel", the tourist district of Kathmandu, characterized by its narrow streets full of various shops, hiking gear, walking speed, music, DVDs, crafts , souvenirs, clothes.
Take your time walking around Durbar Marg, a beautiful avenue that leads to the Narayanhity Palace Museum. In Thamel, you can purchase some local souvenirs and find all kinds of facilities, such as cafes, bars and restaurants. Experience a mountain flight: it is the best way to see the Himalayas for those travellers who have limited time in Nepal. This could be an unforgettable experience for you to witness a breath-taking panoramic view of the highest mountains in the world!
