Trek up to Buddha's UNESCO-listed birthplace, Lumbini, embark on a jungle wildlife safari from atop an elephant in Chitwan National Park, canoe through Pokhara's stunning lake, sit back and watch a traditional cultural dance of the ethnic Tharu people, and stroll through landscapes with mountains such as Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhare, Lamjung, and Himal spread across the backdrop! The itinerary has been created by our local agency with one idea in mind: to inspire you. Every element can be adapted to your needs and interests, from duration to accommodation and activities.

Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu (1300 m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, you  will be welcomed by our representative. A short drive of about 20-30 mins will bring you to your hotel. Welcome drink, and itinerary briefing with our rep. Overnight at Hotel Malla on bed & breakfast basis.

Day 2: Bhaktapur (1401 m) – Balthali (1750 m)

After breakfast, you will be met by our sightseeing guide and driven to Bhaktapur, located 13km east of central Kathmandu. The city is known for its rich and unique culture, sophisticated art and craft, architecture, monuments, and colourful festivals.

In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Balthali to relax for the night. Overnight at Balthali Village Resort on a full board basis.

Day 3: Generosity Lessons From Buddha

Today is free for you to enjoy at your own pace - soak up the Himalayas or take short hikes around  Namobuddha (2-3 hr walk from Balthali Village Resort). If you wish, you can visit the monastery of Namobuddha. There you'll find a stone sculpture and legend relating to Buddha, who cut all his body parts and gave them to a starving tigress along with her cubs. Take in the peace and tranquility, before your overnight stay at Balthali Village Resort on a full board basis.

Day 4: Balthali – Pokhara (900 m)

Today after breakfast, you'll take a long drive from Balthali to Pokhara via Kathmandu. The road follows 200km of the Trishuli River Valley. Pokhara is set in the heart of a large subtropical valley, boasting a beautiful lake which you can walk or cycle along. Overnight at Hotel Landmark on a bed & breakfast basis.

Day 5: Full Day Sightseeing In Pokhara

After breakfast, you will set off on a guided sightseeing tour in Pokhara with an English-speaking Nepali guide, to visit the World Peace Stupa which dominates the Phewa Lake. You can also visit Davids Falls, Chamero Gupha, and enjoy an hour-long boat trip across Phewa Lake. Then you will be transferred back to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel Landmark on a bed & breakfast basis.

Day 6: Lumbini (100 m): Buddha’s Birth Place 

Today, we drive to Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha. En-route through Siddhartha Highway, you'll be met by stunning natural scenery. Lunch stop near Tansen, 4-5 hr drive, and a short visit to the Tansen bazaar before we hit the road on to Lumbini (another 2 hrs). Overnight at Hotel Buddha Maya on a bed & breakfast basis.​

Day 7: Getting To Know Lumbini

After breakfast, we start our tour of the birth place of Lord Buddha. Starting with the sacred garden, you'll head to Maya Devi Temple and various monasteries, built in the style of the Chinese, Korean, Thai, Myanmar, Sri Lankan, Cambodian, and many more. Overnight at Hotel Buddha Maya Garden on a bed & breakfast basis.

Day 8: Jungle Safari, Elephant Ride And Folklore 

Today we will be driving to Chitwan National Park  for an exclusive jungle safari. It takes about 4 hours from Lumbini to Kasara Jungle Resort. Depending on time, you will be taken for a jungle safari on elephant back, allowing you to view and photograph the wildlife, bird life, and abundant flora and fauna inside the park. If you are lucky, you may see the elusive royal Bengal tiger, rhino, and deer.

In the evening, you'll be treated to a Tharu cultural show. Overnight at Kasara Jungle Resort on a Full Board Basis.

Day 9: Canoe Ride In Chitwan

Today's itinerary: canoeing through the river on a crocodile safari, visit to the elephant breeding centre, another jungle safari, bird-watching and more! Overnight at Kasara Jungle Resort on a full board basis.

Day 10: Kathmandu: A Well-Deserved Rest

​Today is your final day in Kasara Resort! After your breakfast, we'll set off on a drive from Chitwan to Kathmandu (6-7 hrs). Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the hotel, and have some free time to relax or explore the nearby area on foot. Overnight at Hotel Malla on a bed & breakfast basis.

Day 11: Explore Kathmandu

After breakfast, you will set off on a guided tour to three UNESCO-listed sites. First stop: Pashupatinath, one of the most sacred temples in South Asia, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Next: Bodanath Stupa, a sanctuary of major importance in the Buddhist religion. The area is famous for its presence of Tibetan refugees, and its numerous monasteries.

Lastly: Patan, also known as Lalitpur, which 'city of fine arts,' 5 km south of Kathmandu. The whole complex of its old town - Durbar Square - consists of different sections of medieval palaces. Patan is also very famous for its handicrafts. After your visit you will be transferred back to your hotel. Overnight at Hotel Malla on a bed & breakfast basis.

Day 12: Departure
