Day 1: Bienvenidos a Mexico!!

Arrive in Mexico City, one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world. With its culinary scene exploding and a vibrant cultural scene gaining more and more international esteem, Mexico City is a great tourist destination. You will be transferred to your hotel where you can relax or exploring the neighbourhood.

Day 2: Take a Tour of Mexico City

Enjoy a guided tour of this incredible city. Begin in the Zocalo square, the beating heart of Mexico’s capital. Visit the Palacio Nacional, the Templo Mayor and the ancient Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan. In the afternoon, you will visit the National Museum of Anthropology, one of the best museums in the country! Finish your day with a wander around the park of Chapultapec. Rest after a long day in your hotel.

Day 3: Be Amazed by the Temples of Teotihuacan

Depart for a visit of the surroundings of Mexico City. Visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, built in the 17th century. It is the most important religious site of Latin America and a major pilgrimage site for Roman Catholics from all over the world. Head to the archeological site of Teotihuacan with the pyramids of the Moon and the Sun, the Temple of the Feathered Serpent (Quetzalcóatl), the Temple of the Feathered Snails and the Palace of the Jaguars.

Day 4: Explore Archeology in Cholula

Travel to Cholula, a village at the foothills of Volcano Popocatépetl. Famous for its archeology park, you can find Mexico’s largest pyramid, Pyramide Tepanapa. Climb hundreds of steps to reach the top of the pyramid, but the stunning view from above will make it worth it. Proceed to Puebla to explore the city. After a city tour of Puebla, you will be transferred to your hotel to rest.

Day 5: Travel to Beautiful Oaxaca

Take a journey to Oaxaca, declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site, and considered one of Mexico’s most beautiful towns for its colourful façades. As you travel through the Sierra Madre Orientale mountain range, admire the superb candelabra cacti which can grow up to 8 feet tall. Arrive in Oaxaca in the late morning and take a guided tour of the town centre, including a visit to the centre square and the cathedral.

Day 6: Take in the Amazing View of Oaxaca

Visit the surroundings of the city of Oaxaca. In particular, visit the prestigious Zapotec site of Monte Alban. Once the ruling city of Oaxaca's central valley, it sits 2000 meters above sea level. Here, you will find remains of palaces, temples, an observatory and a ball court, all with incredible views over valleys and mountains.

Day 7: Marvel at the Canyon del Sumidero

Today you will take a short flight from Oaxaca to Tuxtla Gutierrez in Chiapas. On your arrival at the airport you will make your way to the village of Chiapa de Corza. Here you will get on a boat and sail through the incredible Canyon del Sumidero on the Chiapas River. Enjoying his breathtaking view of the canyon including the ‘Christmas Tree Falls’, an amazing waterfall which crashes down one of the rock faces. After your trip through the canyon, travel to the hilly city of San Cristobal de las Casas to explore the indigenous town and its traditional market.

Day 8: Get Up Close and Personal with the Locals

Explore San Cristobal de las Casas and enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains over breakfast. Take a trip to the village of San Juan de Chamula where you can see the local religious practice of a type of syncretism: a mixture of ancestral rituals and more modern Christian beliefs. After, squeeze in a visit to a local family in Zinacantan where you will be invited to share their customs. Enjoy a cup of pox (a corn-based liquor) and some handmade tortillas. This is authentic Chiapas!

Day 9: Go for a Swim in Magical Waterfalls

Leave the highlands behind you and head towards the more humid lowlands. All year water comes down from the mountains and creates beautiful waterfalls like Misol-Ha and Agua Azul. Swim in one of the many pools of crystal clear water. Feeling refreshed, continue to the superb Mayan site of Palenque, nestled in the heart of the tropical forest. Enjoy your evening surrounded by the jungle in Palenque!

Day 10: Discover the Magic of Palenque

Head to the incredible archeological site of Palenque, one of the most magical sites in Mexico. Discover amazing Mayan architecture surrounded by pure jungle and listen out for the sound of monkeys and jaguars! After lunch, take a walk amongst gigantic trees in the rainforest and learn about the wildlife that live here. After, travel to the beautiful colonial town of Campeche where pirates used to rule the coast. Palenque!

Day 11: Unearth the History of Uxmal

Visit the village of Becal where you will learn about how the locals make panama hats, a garment typical of the Yucatan Peninsular. Later, explore the archaeological site of Uxmal which is peaceful and not widely visited by tourists… Uxmal, in Mayan language, means “Thrice Built”, but in reality the city was constructed five times. Later, visit the village of Afterwards, continue on to Mérida, where you will check into your hotel.

Day 12: Swim in Crystal Clear Cenotes

Travel through the forest to swim in cenotes, pools of water unique to this part of the world. Stop at a typical Mayan market where the colours of fruits and vegetables are matched with those of the women’s clothing. Explore two cenotes and have a refreshing swim. After, you will return to the colonial city of Mérida where you will have the opportunity to stroll the colourful streets. There are many historical monuments and delightful little plazas. This is perfect for an evening of listening to local music and sampling some Yucatecan food.

Day 13: Marvel at Chichén Itzá

Spend your morning exploring one of the 7 Modern Wonders of the World. Built by the Maya, and then reorganized by the Toltecs, Chichén Itzá symbolises the unification of both religious cultures. It is the largest archaeological site in Yucatan. In the afternoon, travel to the beautiful colonial town of Valladolid. Appreciate the pretty pastel coloured houses, while eating an ice cream. In the evening, travel to Tulum, a beach town on the Caribbean coast.

Day 14: Relax on the Caribbean Beaches of Tulum

Spend your day relaxing on the white, sandy beach. Sunbathe in the Caribbean sun or take a dip in the crystal, blue waters. If you still have some energy, explore the archeaological site to the north of the main beach. This World Heritage Site sits on a cliff edge facing the Caribbean sea and witnessed the arrival of the first colonists in 1518. Spend your final evening dipping your toes in the warm Caribbean sea.

Day 15: Hasta Luego Mexico
