Day 1: Bienvenidos a Cancun!

Arrive in sunny Cancun ready to start your Mexican adventure! You will meet your guide at the airport who will assist you with everything you need. Head to your hotel and take some time to relax before your journey through the Mayan Wonders begins!

Night at Ramada (Cancún)

Day 2: Explore Colourful Valladolid

This morning visit the beautiful colonial town of Valladolid. This peaceful town, built in the sixteenth century by Francisco de Montejo, is dominated by the imposing sobriety of the Franciscan convent San Bernardino de Siena. Appreciate the pretty pastel coloured houses, while eating an ice cream. Spend the evening at your hotel close to Chichén Itzá where you can relax by the pool or make the most of their excellent spa facilities.

Option to include Mayan massage.

Oka'an (Chichén-Itzá)

Day 3: Marvel at Chichén Itzá

Spend your morning exploring one of the 7 Modern Wonders of the World. Built by the Maya, and then reorganised by the Toltecs, Chichén Itzá symbolises the unification of both religious cultures. It is the largest archaeological site in Yucatan and a must-see on your trip. In the afternoon, travel to the beautiful colonial town of Izamal, which is entirely painted in yellow. Spend your evening relaxing in your hotel.

Hacienda Santo Domingo (Izamal)

Day 4: Swim in Crystal Clear Cenotes

Travel through the forest to swim in cenotes, pools of water unique to this part of the world. Stop at a typical Mayan market where the colours of fruits and vegetables are matched with those of the women’s clothing. Explore two cenotes and have a refreshing swim. Have lunch with a Mayan family and eat some typical, local food (included). After, journey to the colonial city of Mérida where you will have the opportunity to stroll the colourful streets. There are many historical monuments and delightful little plazas. This is perfect for an evening of listening to local music and sampling some Yucatan food.

Casa Lucia (Mérida)

Day 5: Unearth the History of Uxmal

Explore the archaeological site of Uxmal which is peaceful and not widely visited by tourists… Uxmal, in the Mayan language, means “Thrice Built”, but in reality the city was constructed five times. Later, visit the village of Becal where you will learn about how the locals make panama hats, a garment typical of the Yucatan Peninsular. Afterwards, continue on to Campeche, where you will check into your hotel.

Day 8: Get Back to Nature at Calakmul

Visit another Mayan archeological site, this time located at the heart of a biosphere reserve. This lesser known site used to to be the direct rival of the Tikal in modern-day Guatemala.
