Day 1: Arrival in Tokyo

Upon arrival at Narita or Haneda Airport, exchange your JR Pass voucher for the JR pass and take the respective transport to your accommodation. Check in, then have the evening free exploring Shinjuku!

Day 2: Tokyo exploring day

Today is dedicated to exploring Tokyo, via public transportation. We recommend either going towards the area around Shibuya, comprising of Omotesando, Harajuku, Meiji Shrine and Shinjuku, or towards the Northeastern area, consisting of the Imperial Palace Hamarikyu Gardens, Tokyo SkyTree and Asakusa.

Day 3: Group coach tour at Hakone

You will spend the day visiting the Hakone region in Kanagawa prefecture! A beautiful place  where Mount Fuji can be sighted in its entirety on sunny days, explore the smoky scenery of Owakudani Valley, and take a cruise along Lake Ashi in a pirate ship!

Day 4: Visit the giant buddha of Kamakura 

We’d be heading to Kamakura today, a beautiful and peaceful countryside town just 1 hour from Tokyo, on a guided tour. You will visit some of the area’s famous attractions including the Giant Buddha and Hachimangu Shrine, before going to a guided tour around a beer brewery in the area!

Day 5: Transfer to Kanazawa

Before transferring to Kanazawa station via bullet train today, spend the morning visiting Miraikan, also known as the Emerging Museum of Science and Innovation, where you’ll be exposed to the latest technologies being developed in Tokyo. After reaching Kanazawa and checking in to your hotel, feel free to explore Kanazawa – we recommend the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art.

Day 6: Visit some of Kanazawa’s key sights

Using public transportation, visit some of Kanazawa’s key sights today: Kenrokuen, Kanazawa Castle, Naga-michi Buke Yashiki District, the Nomura Samurai Family Residence and Omi-cho Market. Get acquainted with the art of kinpaku, or gold leaf craft in Kanazawa.

Day 7: Transfer to Nagoya

Take the bullet train from Kanazawa to Nagoya Station, and have some free time in Nagoya. We recommend trying out some delicious unagi cuisine!

Day 8: Discover the edo-era post town 

Explore the Edo-era post town of Magome/Tsumago, which was once part of the Nakasendo route that takes pilgrims from Kyoto to Tokyo. Head to the starting point at Magome by train from Nagoya, hike the trail in its 8km entirety before reaching Tsumago and taking the train back to Nagoya!

Day 9: Nagoya exploring and transfer to Kyoto

In the morning, have some free time in Nagoya – we recommend visiting Nagoya castle! After that, take the bullet train to Kyoto, check in to your hotel and have the day free!

Day 10: Beautiful Sagano romantic train

Today is dedicated to visiting the western part of Kyoto, in particular Arashiyama! Take the Sagano Romantic Train which winds through beautiful mountain scenery, then come back down via the Hozugawa River via a traditional boat cruise! After that, visit the famed bamboo forests, before heading to Kinkakuji, the Golden Pavillion. Have the evening free.

Day 11: Visit the famous shrine gates 

You will visit the eastern part of Kyoto today. Start off with Fushimi Inari Taisha, the area with over 10,000 shrine gates, made famous by the movie Memoirs of a Geisha. After that, head to Nishiki Market where you’d enjoy Kyoto’s soul foods such as pickled vegetables or matcha sweets. Head to Kiyomizudera Temple and check out the beautiful views of Kyoto from the temple. Lastly, stroll through the quarters of Gion and see if you can spot a Geisha!

Day 12: Exploring the amazing green tea towns

One of Japan’s most famous green tea towns, Uji produces some of the best green tea products in Japan! You’d be joining a group tour today, where you’d be led by a guide to Uji via public transportation. Besides getting acquainted with Uji and its famous green tea and resulting products, enjoy a tea ceremony there and visit a traditional Japanese temple too. End the tour at Kyoto Station.

Day 13: Osaka Exploring

Transfer to Osaka from Kyoto today. Visit some of Osaka’s famous sights such as Osaka Castle, Umeda Sky Building and Shin-Sekai. At night, head to the bustling area of Dotonbori, where the lights are bright and the food signs make for whimsical sights!

Day 14: Transfer to KIX Airport
