Day 1: Welcome to Italy!

Benvenuto in Italia! Your Sicilian escape starts from Palermo, an incredible city rich in history and colourful alleyways, offering a wonderful mix of styles. Our driver will pick you up at the airport and take you to an elegant centrally located hotel. Spend the day at your leisure, relaxing at the high-quality hotel, or start exploring Palermo at your own pace with the help of our suggestions. 


Day 2: Guided Tours of Palermo and Monreale

Today you’ll discover the charm of Palermo in a special and unique way. Join a guided walking tour organized by Addio Pizzo Travel, a movement who promotes an ethical and mafia-free economy and who supports those who rebel against the mafia racket. Your guide will unveil for you the most beautiful part of Palermo's historic center and you'll meet the people and see the places that became the symbolic of the mafia racketing rebellion. After enjoying some free time for lunch, your driver will take you to the nearby and stunning village of Monreale. With a licensed guide, explore the cathedral, a 12th century Norman monument considered one of the “wonders of the Middle Ages”. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy the evening to yourself.

Day 3: Mountain Villages and Wine

Today you will leave Palermo to visit Erice, a fascinating mountaintop village, named after Eryx - son of Venus, goddess of love and beauty. Enjoy and explore the little alleyways of this stunning place at your leisure. After lunch, your driver will take you to beautiful Marsala, your home for the next two nights. In the late afternoon we’ll arrange a special visit to an exclusive winery producing the famous Marsala wine. End the day tasting different wine and local products.

Day 4: Marsala Guided Tour and Traditional Stagnone

Wake up and enjoy the marine breeze that gently blows in the Marsala alleyways. This morning you will enjoy a private guided tour of Marsala, where you will appreciate this magical place and you will learn about the “Expedition of the Thousand” - an important event that led to the creation of the Kingdom of Italy and whose protagonist was Giuseppe Garibaldi. You will have some time at your leisure for lunch before being picked up by your driver to go to the “salt-pans” of the Stagnone, an incredible natural reserve where you will be part of an incredible experience and you will learn about the salt harvesting, a tradition passed down through generations. 


Day 5: Countryside of Agrigento

Today you’ll start comfortably in a luxury car that will take you to the area of Agrigento. We’ve selected for you a special and exquisite countryside hotel where you can relax, enjoying the beautiful nature surrounding this place. At night time, a special dinner with organic products will be offered to you. It will be a real bliss for your palate. 


Day 6: Valley of the Temples and Villa del Casale

Today we start with a visit to a magnificent ancient wonder: Valle dei Templi. A licensed guided will take you on a private tour to discover fascinating Greek Temples dating back centuries B.C. and overlooking the blue Sicilian sea. After some free time for lunch, you driver will take you to Villa del Casale, a magnificent Roman villa built in the 4th century A.D. - a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its exquisite and rich collection of Roman mosaics. Here you will meet a licensed local guide that will take you on a fascinating private tour of the villa. In the late afternoon, arrive in Siracusa and check-in at your hotel located in the heart of Ortigia, the marvelous island considered the center of this town.
Note: The driver will take you to the entrance of the Valley of the Temple, but the guided tour will be a walking tour [approx. 2 hours].


Day 7: Baroque and Chocolate Wonders

Today you'll be charmed by two wonders typical of this area: baroque architecture and chocolate. In the morning you will reach by private car the breathtaking town of Ragusa, one of the most exquisite examples of Sicilian Baroque. A local licensed guide will meet you for a private walking tour of the town, considered one of the most scenic places in Sicily. Afterwards, you’ll be escorted by your driver to the town of Modica, where, after enjoying some free time for lunch, you will dive into a local wonder: the world famous Modica chocolate. We’ve selected for you one of the finest chocolate laboratories in town, where you will learn the secrets of the ancient local recipe that gives the chocolate a typical granite texture and aromatic flavor. You’ll be back to Siracusa in the late afternoon, where you will enjoy the evening at your leisure.

Day 8: Explore Taormina

Today you will say goodbye to the stunning Ortigia to discover another Sicialian treasure: Taormina. This hilltop town offers dramatic views on the Mediterranean Sea and is an exclusive venue for relaxation and holidays. Explore the elegant Taormina alleyways, stop in a famous bar for the best granita con brioche you can have (slush with brioche) or visit The Ancient theatre of Taormina, a Greek theater dating back to the third century BC. Today is all at your leisure and you can follow our suggestions or explore following your instinct. 


Day 9: Volcanic Mt Etna

Wake up and enjoy the stunning morning view on the sea that Taormina offers. A private car will pick you up to take you to the lively city of Catania, that will be your home for the next two nights. In the afternoon we’ve organized a special experience for you: you will join a small group of travellers for an expedition to the Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. You will be driven to the hillside of the volcano, and your licenced volcano guide will take you for a panoramic tour of the Valle del Bove, to explore a picturesque lava cave and to walk around scenic craters. You’ll be driven back to your hotel in the evening, where you can enjoy some time at your leisure.

Note: The walking level on Mount Etna is considered easy, but there will be some steep path to walk. It is compulsory to have good walking shoes and not open sandals (running shoes are fine). In case of bad weather, the Etna activity will be substituted with an indoor activity if the same value.

Day 10: Bustling, Foodie Catania

Catania is beautiful, Catania is elegant, Catania is food and street markets. This morning you will join a small group for an intriguing food walk of the city center, where a local licensed guide will show you the wonders of Catania through the best food venues where only the locals go. Besides eating delicious street food you will also visit the main historical streets and squares of the city centre.

The afternoon will be at your leisure and you can hunt for the best shops in the via Etnea, relax in the elegant Giardino Bellini (Bellini Gardens) or keep on visiting the Cathedral of Sant’Agata and the other museums and monuments of the city.  


Day 11: Departure

Your tour has come to an end. We hope you’ll have had the time of your life! Enjoy one more Italian coffee with its unforgettable aroma, and then head towards your flight home (or your next destination). Arrivederci!
