The Golo Valley is located on the northern part of the island of Corsica.

My suggestion:
If you can, rent a vehicle and follow the road along the Golo Valley: there are various viewpoints and a number of things to see and do along the way.
Summary:

There is a road – the D84 – that follows the route of the Golo valley, and I strongly recommend this to anyone who enjoys touring by car. At every turn along this road there are wonderful views of the gorges of the Golo to be had, as well as of the various characterful old bridges that exist in the valley. If you continue on this road, you will eventually come to the Calacuccia Dam and its lake, which lies not far from the little town of the same name. The town is one of the places you can stop and visit as you follow this itinerary through this part of Corsica.

Once the road has left the town of Albertacce behind, the Golo valley links up with the Calasima River; and it was at this point along the D84 that I got my best views of Monte Cinto, which at 8,878 feet is the highest mountain on Corsica. The road next passes through a forest from which several hiking trails set out. If you then continue further along the road, you eventually lose sight of the Golo valley and end up arriving in the South Corsica region.
