Today starts with a trip across the river to the town of Dhala for a trishaw ride and a visit to its vibrant market. Afterwards you’ll see some of Yangon’s most impressive sites, including a 70 meter long reclining Buddha statue and Karaweik Hall, a reproduction of a royal barge. After a short break in an elegant tea saloon, visit the legendary Shwedagon pagoda during sunset. Lunch and dinner on own account. Overnight stay in Yangon.

Fly today to Bagan, one of Asia’s greatest architectural sites. Upon arrival, head to an elevated temple and enjoy panoramic views of Bagan’s plains. Afterwards, explore the main temples of the area. In the evening, hop on a private wooden boat and sail the Irrawaddy River until you reach a sandbank illuminated by oil lamps. Sip delicious cocktails while a harpist plays traditional music. After breakfast, visit the Nyaung Oo market. Visit thereafter the renowned Shwezigon Pagoda. Next, go to a small village monastery to participate in a traditional Buddhist ceremony. Donate food to the resident monks and receive a special blessing. Afterwards, visit a lacquer ware and a wood crafts workshop, both using century-old techniques. Enjoy a romantic horse cart ride through Bagan in the afternoon. Head to a secluded temple’s upper terrace where a private afternoon tea arrangement awaits you. Transfer to airport after breakfast (1 hour) for flight to Heho. Upon arrival, proceed by road to the trekking starting point. You’ll be greeted by a local guide and commence your walk through the Shan hills. After a picnic lunch at a local house, you will reach Magwe village and encounter the Greenhill Project’s elephants. Afterwards, continue back to Kalaw, a former British hill station. Expect to reach Kalaw around midday. The rest of the day is at leisure to do as you please. Picnic lunch at a local house. From Kalaw, go on a scenic drive to Nyaung Shwe, gateway village to Inle Lake. Visit workshops specialized in Shan paper and handcrafted umbrellas along the way. Next, board a private motorboat and begin heading out onto Inle Lake. Visit Nga Hpe Chaung monastery, housing many early Shan Buddha images. Proceed to the Phaung Daw Oo pagoda, containing five sacred images of Buddha. We can also stop to visit a workshop making incredible woven items from lotus silk, boat builders, a cigar making workshop, blacksmiths or even silver smiths. Lunch and dinner on own account. This morning, travel out onto Inle Lake. In a scenic spot, hot tea or coffee will be served while you enjoy the sunrise. Visit the lake’s market after breakfast and thereafter the Pa-Oh village of Indein. Ascend to the top of a hill where you’ll be greeted by an iconic Buddha image enshrined by hundreds of stupa ruins and overgrown shrubbery. On your ride back you'll stop at the Inthar heritage house to learn more about the lake's indigenous people (drinks and snacks on own account). Lunch and dinner on own account. Transfer to Heho airport after breakfast for flight to Yangon. Explore Bogyoke market and glance through its collection of Myanmar crafts. Later, “find out what the future holds” - Myanmar astrologers with deep knowledge of the ancient arts of Asia are tremendously fashionable and greatly revered. You should definitely give it a go while here. Enjoy a lavish farewell dinner at Le Planteur, one of Yangon’s best restaurants.
