The second part of the hike is 14km along a rolling landscape surrounded by amazing tabletop mountains, and finally a full view of Pati Valley. At the end of the walk a steep descent requires attention and care. The descent of the ramp has some paths that are very exposed to the height, loose stones and places where it is necessary to use the hands to hold yourself, for that reason it is essential to be with the free hands and to descend slowly and very carefully. The day ends at the house of one of the natives for an overnight stay.

Included: Room and Breakfast, English bilingual guide, Transport, Excursion

Visited:
Lençóis

Day 5: Funis Waterfalls and Castle Cave

After breakfast, you’ll trek over the rocks along the Funis River, passing nice falls and enjoying the morning sun. Lunch at the Funis waterfall. After swimming and lunch you’ll climb up to visit the Castle Cave – a large quartzite cave located on the top of the highest mountain in the Valley, the Serra da Lapinha. There will be a long uphill climb, and then you’ll work you way through the cave to the other side and enjoy a breathtaking view of the valley from the summit.

The first path is done right beside the Funis River. There are slippery rocks during this part, it is necessary to cross the river a few times and it may be necessary to step in the water, depending on the river level. The second path is a steep uphill trail up to the Castle Grotto, at the top of the mountain range. In the last path of the trail, it's necessary to use the hand to hold yourself. In general, the groups take around 1:30 to the summit, in a route of almost 3 km. In case of heavy rains or rainy days, the visit to the Castle should be avoided, considering the difficulty of walking on the wet rocks at the top, and the trail with mud, very slippery on the descent. The visit to Funis can be canceled due to the river water volume and the risks. Grotto: At the top of the mountain, a short and light crossing, in a wide path of 300m. Headlights (hed lamp) are required.

Included: Room and Breakfast, English bilingual guide, Transport, Excursion

Visited:
Lençóis

Day 6: Lençóis

After breakfast, a trek to visit the Cachoeirão Waterfall. The Cachoeirão is one of the maisn attractions in Pati Valley, with a 300m fall (and it’s possible to see 20 different falls during a heavy rain). Break for swimming and lunch, and a leisurely walk over the Gerais plain. You’ll stop for swimming and lunch at Rio Preto River and relax before the last hour of walking to the car. Transfer from Guine to Lençóis.

Hiking: 18 km. Less demanding than the previous day, there is a climb at the beginning of the walk, but most of the way is flat to get to the Cachoeirão. The return is through the same way. If there is a change in the itinerary and this attraction is made on the last day along with the departure for Guiné, the total route of the day is 23 km, the most difficult part being the descent from the hill of Beco in Guiné, because it is steeper and stones, slippery in some parts.
